Dr. Stefan Metzger
Founder, Surface-Atmosphere Steward
Stefan spent the last decade leading the Surface-Atmosphere Component of the US NSF National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON), focusing on data quality and availability. He serves on various national and international committees including AmeriFlux and FLUXNET, and in the alignment of the NEON and EU ICOS observing systems. Stefan developed FluxMapper from his PhD work with the aim of revolutionizing how EC data can be readily utilized for environmental intelligence. This prompted him to found Atmofacts. When not at work, he is backcountry skiing or camping with his family. Originally from Germany, Stefan now lives in Longmont, CO.
Sam Bower
Geospatial Coordinator
Sam has 3+ years of experience in earth science and geospatial technologies. Sam recieved a B.A. in Geology from Colorado College and M.S. in Geology from West Virginia University. In grad school, he published research on the environmental impacts of surface mining. He is interested in practical climate solutions, data visualization and earth science. Sam grew up in Maryland and now lives in Boulder, CO. Outside of the office Sam can be found at Valmont bike park, skiing in the Rockies or playing music with his friends.
